Not having the acapellas it is a complete new challenge, Cookin’ Soul got in the studio together with french top producer Spike Miller and electronic spanish producer VibaSound using real live instruments: guitars, bass, piano, strings, synths, everything necessary to create this monster with remixes, mashups & original production.

Cookin’ Soul – Love TKO ft. Joell Ortiz, Jadakiss, Saigon & Novel x Teddy Pendergrass Tribute (Mixtape)

Cookin’ Soul pays tribute to Teddy Pendergrass.  One track that stood out to me most was their remix of Joell’s “Hip Hop” into a new classic.  Spotted @ NahRight.

Soul/R&B legend Teddy Pendergrass recently passed away on January 13, 2010 at age 59. As fans of his music and legacy, we decided to create this Tribute mixtape, using samples and interpolations of some of his best works as one of the best artists and performers in R&B history.

The project includes instrumental tracks and songs featuring Amanda Diva, Curren$y, Joell Ortiz, Doo Wop, Jadakiss, Saigon, Novel, 40 Cal, Ryuzo (R-Rated), Tek (Smif-N-Wessun), LA The Darkman, Willie The Kid, Sha Stimuli & Dante Hawkins

As many of you know, February 7th was both J DIlla’s birthday and ten years to the day of Big Pun’s passing (and February 6th being Bob Marley’s birthday). With that said, Cookin’ Soul and the dopehouse pay homage to the work of the two legends on this project featuring Big Pun raps over J Dilla instrumentals.
