Rapper Big Pooh, Joe Scudda, Chaundon, and Jozeemo collaborate together to bring us Revervior Dogs, the mixtape. The first track to leak off the tape is “Family Affair” in which each member of the crew takes their turn breaking down the Grammy Family beat (originally produced by Kanye West / Jon Brion*). So late last year, the gentleman from Cookin Soul reached out to your boy about doing a mixtape/album/EP type of thing with all original beats and lyrics. The premise was simple: they would provide their legendary production expertise, and we would all reach out to artists we know and respect for bars. Sounds straightforward enough right? So what took so long? Well, honestly, most of the joints were done months ago, but the planets weren’t properly aligned, so we had to let it marinate.

But now, I am happy to present to you the first leak off Cookin Soul & Nah Right’s 1:00 A.M. And Rising. The title is obviously a play on the title of De La Soul’s classic debut, but that’s pretty much where the similarities end. Our project consists of 12 cuts, one to correspond with each hour on the clock. I guess you can say it’s a nod to the late night grind that has become the standard MO for so many of us midnight marauders. No subliminal shots.

The full project will drop sometime over the next two weeks or so, presented by the good folks atFLud Watches.

I went to check out Pooh in his laboratory & he let me hear alot of dope music he is working on and has plans to release soon. Today his special iTunes only version of “Delightful Bars” was released (referred to as the Candy Apple version) & here was a record i was feeling the most from the EP!
